SMS Two-Factor Authentication
Opt-in disclosure, message terms, and how to stop messages at any time.
How to opt in
- Create or log into a DomainWorld.com account at domainworld.com/login.php.
- Visit domainworld.com/security.php — the Account security page.
- Under Mobile phone, enter your mobile phone number and click Send code. We send a one-time 6-digit verification code to that number to confirm you own it. Replying to this verification code constitutes affirmative opt-in consent to receive further SMS messages as described below.
- Under Two-factor authentication, choose SMS as your delivery channel and click Send confirmation code, then enter the code we text you and click Turn on 2FA.
SMS 2FA is optional. The default 2FA channel is email. You can use email instead of SMS, or skip 2FA entirely.
What messages we send
Once you opt in, DomainWorld may send you the following kinds of automated SMS messages:
- Login verification codes — sent each time you sign in, to confirm it is you. Example: “DomainWorld.com 123456”
- Account-security alerts — sent when an unusual sign-in is detected or sensitive settings change. Example: “DomainWorld: a new device just signed in to your account. If this was not you, reply STOP and reset your password.”
- Domain-expiration notices for domains you own — sent when one of your domains is approaching expiration. Example: “Domain ABCDE.XYZ is expiring. To renew, log in to DomainWorld.com.”
We do not send marketing or promotional SMS, ever.
Frequency
Typical message volume: 1–4 messages per sign-in, plus occasional security or expiration alerts. Total volume per user rarely exceeds a few messages per week.
Costs
DomainWorld does not charge for SMS messages. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
How to stop messages (opt out)
You can opt out of SMS at any time by either:
- Replying STOP (or any of: STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT) to any message we send.
- Visiting domainworld.com/security.php and switching your 2FA channel from SMS to Email, or turning 2FA off.
If you reply STOP we will send one final confirmation: “You have successfully been unsubscribed. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe.”
Reply HELP at any time for help (you will get a short reply with a link to this page).
