Founder: I am Bob Evans. I founded one of the first dialup Internet companies in Palo Alto, California. It was transformed from a Bulletin Board e-Mail service using FidoNet software created by Tom Jennings in the mid 80s. If you remember that, I bet you have domains the next generation should turn into something. As you can imagine, I grabbed a new domain name every time I had a new idea. Some were implemented. Some people I hired ran startups into the ground, while others did well.

I've recently retired. I had family pick over the list for domain businesses they are interested in. I had a huge list of great domains left. I went to sell them and discovered that middleman sites charge big commissions based on the value I maintained and imagined, as opposed to fixed fees for each. That's fine if they can produce a properly valued sale. But their approach is: post, sit and wait. Well, I can do that — and I am using one of my domains to do it: DomainWorld.com.

I thought, why not let others do the same — post, sit and wait themselves. They can market it themselves: email similar businesses, owners of similar domains, and bring awareness to the fact their domain is currently posted on DomainWorld. Have you caught on to how I think? It's the foundation of how things began — everyone sharing connections and software debugging — to end up with what we have today. From BBSes where we all shared each other's locations and telephone lines, that transformed into ARPANET-routable connections in tiny shared data centers (rooms & garages), that transformed into the super information highway, then the Internet full of websites and eventually everyone's own shared video content.

In that founding spirit that has never left me, I want people with their ideas to market them for sale and make the most they can with each other. You will find I left a good-sized description field — in the event you have a grouping of domains related to each other, or you have a website you built with a great domain you wish to make available or find a partner with a specific skill set to join you. You can sell the domain with the site, etc. Who knows what will happen? You deal with your buyer directly. Maybe they want to "try to make something happen and offer you a piece of the action in their venture in exchange for the domain?" Opportunity — it's up to you.

All I expect from your participation is a flat fee for a listing, or a membership fee to make 100 listings per year. The site will have the ability for individuals, businesses, and middlemen to participate. Everyone manages and controls their own deal. DomainWorld.com is just your listing place or old school classified for domain businesses. Soon, after the debugging, I will probably expand it to make escrow super easy through an existing online escrow company.
